WHY DID WE CREATE SYNERGY?
Synergy is the result of a dream shared by Inês and Helder.
Inês: I went through the struggle of trying to make it as a freelancer on my own, working from home. Years of doubts and insecurities, feeling I wasn’t good enough and didn’t know what I truly wanted to do with my life. Years wasted, which led to a lot of demotivation, because I had no one to share the grind of bringing ideas to life, no daily contact with driven people who fight for what they want and make things happen.
Until the day I decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I chose to get out, meet people, take courses, talk about my ideas, and try putting them into practice. And that alone completely changed my life, leading me to discover COACHING as one of my passions and TRAINING as another. In just over a year, I earned an international coaching certification and my first clients, was invited to teach multimedia courses, and organized exhibitions with several artists—showing my own pieces too.
For me, Synergy came from the need to share this hands-on philosophy: fight for what you want, experiment to figure out what that is, and above all, share the journey with others—COLLABORATE, exchange ideas, GROW TOGETHER.
And it’s called Synergy because long before all this, Helder had already created a forum with the same name so that people with complementary ideas could find someone there to help them PUT THEIR IDEAS INTO PRACTICE. From his own experience, he knew that people often shelve projects because they don’t have anyone to push them and encourage them to make them happen—and that EVERYTHING IS EASIER WHEN YOU HAVE A GROUP THAT HAS YOUR BACK.
Helder: For me, the most important thing is to empower and inspire. To show you that YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU SET YOUR MIND TO and give you an easier way to do it.
When we decided to move Synergy forward, I didn’t want renovation costs to stand in the way of making our idea real. So a big part of the renovation was planned and done by me, with help from friends and family. With almost no experience across the different trades, ALL OF US TOGETHER managed to redo walls, lay flooring, install lighting, build doors and furniture—and having done it ourselves makes Synergy feel even more ours and helps us show our BELIEF THAT WE’RE CAPABLE, hopefully inspiring others to discover the same in their own fields.
With Synergy, we’ve combined our shared desire to bring people together, help them go further, and empower them to put their projects into action. Through a STRONG COMMUNITY that shares and supports without hesitation; through EVENTS AND TRAINING where ideas are exchanged, questions answered, and plans made; and through a COWORKING SPACE where you feel part of a FAMILY, with shared meals and people who care about you and are always ready to lend a hand.
