We could start by telling you about the natural light in our space, how comfortable the chairs are or how fast the Internet is, but we don't believe that's why you're looking for a coworking space. You probably have all of that at home too, and maybe your chairs are even more comfortable.
So why do we think you're looking for a cowork? For the same reason that led us to create it. Decisive moments.
What do we mean? Let us introduce ourselves: I'm the one writing to you, Inês, one of the founders of Synergy. The other one is Helder, who isn't writing to you, because he doesn't like writing and is incredibly better and more indispensable at Synergy for other things, like building our community and our space. You'll meet him when you book a visit.
August 2015
So there I was, Inês, in August 2015, going into crisis because in 5 months I was turning 30. And what was wrong with turning 30? Well, nothing, except that it was one of those decisive moments when, in my head, I should have reached a certain level of personal and professional success, and things weren't going as planned.
Personally, everything was fine, but professionally, I had spent the last 2 years shut away at home on my own, trying to get my career as a graphic designer off the ground, when I didn't even like it. And my career was exactly where it had been 2 years earlier: on the floor.
And why should that matter to you? It shouldn't. And yet, it's the reason you're looking for a coworking space, even if you don't know it yet.
Let me go on.
The decisive moment
One afternoon that summer, I had a decisive moment. That moment when you decide your life can't go on the same way, and you feel all the energy in the world to change, even if it means building a new life, stone by stone. And believe me, in our case it almost came to that.
Within 1 year, I had organised and taken part as an artist in 2 group art and design exhibitions, landed a full-time job as a teacher, opened a holiday rental, earned an international coaching certification and started seeing my first clients. And in December 2016, we were buying the space where we would build Synergy.
Networking that changes lives
And it's exactly that decisive moment you're living right now, the same one that got me out of the house and networking. Not the kind of networking where you go to an event, hand over your business card after a shallow 5-minute chat and add another 10 cards to the top drawer of your desk. The kind of networking that changes your life within a year or less.
Real networking, with people who become partners, mentors, friends or a bit of everything at once. Daily networking, in a workplace that makes you want to work and keeps you away from the temptation of the laundry pile, the charm of cat videos and the insistence of relatives who always need something just when you should be getting work done.
And it's so you can have a place like that, instead of a desk and a chair away from home, that we created Synergy. A place where what matters most is the community, our daily family lunches, the outings, the game nights and sharing small wins in the WhatsApp group on Saturday mornings.

Before you come.
Do I need to book, or can I just show up?
It's best to book, so we can make sure there's a desk and someone to welcome you. The team is usually in from Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 4pm. If you're passing by without a booking, ring the bell and we'll try to fit you in, depending on availability that day.
How do I book?
Talk to us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone and we'll set a day. Before booking, have a look at our cancellation policy.
Can I try a day before committing?
Of course. You pay for the day pass and, if you then join a weekly or monthly plan, we deduct it. We recommend having lunch with us that day: it's the best way to meet everyone.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. If you want to stay longer, a 6-month contract gets you 5% off and a 1-year contract gets you 10% off.
How do lunches work?
We share the week's menu on Monday mornings. There's always a meat or fish option and a vegetarian one, cooked by Sandra and served at 1pm. If you're running late, she keeps a plate for you. Lunches are paid separately and charged directly through our platform. You can also bring your own food and eat with us.
Can I use the meeting room?
With the full-time plan, there's no hour limit, subject to availability. The part-time plan includes 8h a month. For other plans, talk to us.
Do you have phone booths?
No. We'd rather you didn't spend hours shut inside a booth. You can take calls on the entrance floor, away from the open space, in the lounge, on the terrace or in the garden. For the more private ones, book the meeting room.
I'm on the quiet side. Is Synergy for me?
Yes. Here we say "good morning" when we arrive and "see you tomorrow" when we leave. The rest of the day, talk as much as you like.
Is the Internet really fast?
Yes. We have 10 Gbps and an internal Wi-Fi 6 network.
